During his prolific scientific career, Dr. Rivarola has been Director for more than 30 years of the Atomic Collision Group of the Rosario Institute of Physics (CONICET-UNR), of the homonymous Laboratory of the FCEIA-UNR, as well as Director of the Institute of Physics Rosario for two periods and recently outgoing Director of the Rosario Scientific and Technological Center (CCT-CONICET). He has formed a large group of disciples and contributed significantly to the development of the area of Atomic and Molecular Physics at a local, national and international level. In addition, it has gestated and developed scientific collaborations with numerous leading research groups in the area both in the country and abroad, thus leaving a legacy that will last over time. He is also currently Chairman of the Commission for Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics of the International Union for Pure and Atomic Physics. It is worth noting that Dr. Rivarola has done an intense work in favor of the culture of our city. In 2010 he was appointed Scientific Ambassador of the city of Rosario by the Foundation of the City of Rosario and the Municipality of the City of Rosario, due to his outstanding scientific career. Since 2015 he has been an Honorary Member of the Argentine Physical Association. He was distinguished with the Honorable Mention for Scientific Value, which was awarded by the Honorable Senate of the Argentine Nation, Science and Technology Commission in November 2017, in recognition of his contributions to Science and the culture of our country (See note ).

For all these reasons, it is more than opportune to hold a scientific event that will bring together approximately 50 researchers from the country as well as a group of scientists with distinguished careers living in the United States. and Europe that have committed their participation as invited exhibitors.
